Not a phone company
FamilyLine Guide is not a carrier, a bank or a security service. We have no connection to any phone company.
Not a government site
We are not the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, Medicare or the Social Security Administration, and we are not connected to them. Their names appear here only because we point to them as sources.
Not a law firm
Where a topic touches the law, what you read is general information and not legal advice.
No promise it will work for you
Our guides give plain-language information to help families make safer choices on the phone. They are not a promise that any step will stop every scam call or protect you from loss. Scammers change their stories, and no setting, device or safe word is perfect.
The checker is not a verdict
The number checker reports facts about an area code only. A result says nothing about the caller. It is not a judgment on whether someone is honest, and it must not be used to decide that a person is guilty of anything.
Labels are estimates
Warnings such as "Scam Likely", "Spam Risk" or "Potential Spam" are applied by phone carriers or apps. They can be wrong in either direction, so we treat them as a hint and nothing more.
If you have lost money
Contact your bank or payment provider immediately and report the scam at reportfraud.ftc.gov. We cannot recover money or investigate individual cases.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context advertising. The site uses no cookies, ad networks or analytics. For the few things we do keep, such as server logs and contact messages, see the privacy notice. To make a California privacy request, write to [email protected].
Still unsure?
If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and a person will reply. We would rather answer a question than leave a reader guessing what our pages can and cannot be relied on for.
